About

Patrick Meegan is a designer and director who has worked across a wide range of media including film, video games, and virtual reality. His work focuses on innovative narrative formats and often includes emerging technologies in its execution. With extensive experience in fiction, documentary, and interactive storytelling, he brings a unique perspective to projects and pushes collaborators and clients to look beyond preconceived notions of what a story can be.

As a Lead Designer at Experimental, Patrick has built futuristic worlds grounded in detailed engineering logic for the American Society of Civil Engineers, as well as surreal and magical universes for video game clients. He has led the development of full stack interactive game engine platforms for wide release, and designed comprehensive world bibles to guide development teams.

Prior to Experimental, Patrick was the Creative Director for Jaunt XR, where he created immersive content and experiential campaigns for Disney, Microsoft, Intel, NFL films, the Sundance Institute, and countless brands. Additionally, he collaborated with Conservation International to write and direct a virtual reality film exploring indigenous communities and wildlife in the Amazon rainforest, titled Under the Canopy, which has screened globally at museums and events, including the World Economic Forum.

He received an Emmy Award for “Outstanding New Approaches in Documentary” for the immersive film Collisions (made in collaboration with Lynette Wallworth and Nicole Newnham) which tells the story of an Aboriginal elder in the Australian outback.

He holds an M.F.A. in Interactive Media and Games from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Film from Northwestern University.
